Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I get a registration form?
Registration forms have just been mailed to BIAC members, but they will also will be available right here on our web site, so please click here .
How many scholarships are available?
In order to make the Enrichment Retreat affordable for all, BIAC underwrites a portion of the total cost for each attendee. Therefore, only a limited number of partial scholarships are available for BIAC members.
For more information or to request a scholarship application, please call BIAC at 1-860-721-8111 or toll-free at 1-800-278-8242. You may also send us an email by clicking here: general@biact.org.
What is the deadline for registration?
All registrations and payment must be received two weeks before the event. However space is limited — and once each space is filled we will no longer be able to accept registrations, so please register early!
What kind of assistance/supervision is provided?
There are staff and volunteers at the Enrichment Retreat who will provide reminders when an activity is about to start and direct guests to activities.
There is also a nurse on hand to manage medications.
Unfortunately, we can not provide any physical assistance or one-to-one supervision, so those who require physical assistance or significant supervision must bring their own PCAs. Each PCA must register and pay to attend the retreat.
Will I fit in?
Yes! Attendees range in age from 18 to 60. Some people have recently sustained their brain injuries, while others have lived with a brain injury for many years. Some people drive themselves up to the Retreat after they get out of work on Friday, and others are driven to the Retreat by a family member or companion who will stay with them. As a result, it is our experience — and the experience of our regulars, who can’t wait to return — that everyone has a chance to make many good friends at the Enrichment Retreat, and everyone has fun!
