Legislative Advocacy
Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
Yet another of BIAC’s roles is that of Legislative Advocate. Simply put, BIAC advocates for legislation to improve the quality of life for people living with brain injuries while supporting initiatives that help to prevent brain injuries from occurring.
Males are about 1.5 times as likely as females to sustain a traumatic brain injury.
Toward that end, BIAC employs a contract lobbyist to guide us in our efforts, to help educate legislators about brain injuries, and to keep us abreast of current legislation that may affect those we serve.
Of course, the best advocacy occurs when we work together. If you would like to be kept informed about legislation and issues that may affect individuals with brain injuries, please click here: general@biact.org.
