The Music for Thought concert will be on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 at the Pond House in West Hartford. For a minimum donation of $75 per person, anyone can be part of this exciting event. Your ticket will include live music from 7-10 pm, Light dinner, hors d'oeuvres and cash bar.
We are thrilled to welcome two incredible musical talents: Kate Callahan and The Shinolas. The master of ceremonies for the evening is Faith Middleton of NPR’s Food Schmooze.
Kate Callahan is the 16th State Troubadour, an honorary position appointed by the Connecticut Office of the Arts. Callahan was named a Woman of Character by the Hartford Courant, Best Singer-Songwriter by the Connecticut Music Awards, Featured Artist of the Year by the Greater Hartford Arts Council, and Best Solo Performer by the Hartford Advocate.
The Shinolas include Hartford area musical luminaries Jim Chapdelaine (gtrs), Lorne Entress (drums), Paul Kochanski (bass), and Ed Iarusso (pedal steel). Members have recorded or performed with none other than Les Paul, Phoebe Snow, Big Al Anderson, Susan Tedeschi, Jon Pousette Dart, Mighty Sam McClain, Feathermerchants, and numerous others. And if that weren’t enough, Jim has won twelve (and counting) Emmys composing soundtracks for CPTV. Both Kate Callahan and Jim Chapdelaine were featured on Colin McEnroe’s live broadcast of The Healing Power of Music.
All proceeds will benefit the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut.
