Thanks to our staff, an abundance of dedicated volunteers, and many generous sponsors and donors, BIAC is able to host a variety of social, fundraising, and educational events each year — all of which involve the brain injury survivors on whose behalf they are held.
Each fall, survivors are invited to attend our popular Enrichment Retreat, and mid-winter, most return for our February Valentine’s Day Dally — an afternoon of dancing and socializing. Each summer, the Annual BIAC Picnic brings everyone together once more.
Currently, there are at least 5.3 million Americans living with a disability because of a brain injury.
Our primary fundraising events include the BIAC Golf Tournament, normally held each June, and our October Walk For Thought. In 2007, these efforts provided over $200,000 to BIAC’s budget, making it possible for us to undertake many important efforts on behalf of Connecticut’s brain injury survivors.
Finally, we often sponsor special workshops and programs designed to enhance our regular selection of educational outreach presentations.
