I.M. Brainy Bear
A preschool prevention program using our puppet “Brainy Bear” and a variety of games to teach children about their brain and proper safety behaviors. (Ages 3-5/30 minutes.)
Street Smart
An early elementary school prevention program using a video, games, and interactive discussion to teach safety behaviors, such as wearing seat belts, water safety, school bus safety, and bicycle safety. (Grades K-2/30minutes.)
What’s the Big Deal Anyway?
A third-to-fourth grade level presentation focused on bike safety and the importance of wearing seat belts that features interactive games, activities, discussion, and a short video. (Grades 3 and 4/45 minutes.)
Jello in a Jar
A presentation for middle schoolers that provides information about the brain, brain injury, and bicycle safety using video, a game that teaches students about neural connections, and activities that demonstrate the consequences of a brain injury. (Grades 5-7/45 minutes.)
On the Edge
A prevention program for high schoolers that utilizes a video and power point presentation to explore the potential consequences of risky behaviors. Students are given the opportunity to determine their chance of sustaining a brain or spinal cord injury based on their present activities. They also participate in a brief demonstration of how a brain injury feels and are given information on how to lower their risk of neurological injury. (Grades 8-12/45 minutes)
Use Your Head
A powerful high-school level prevention program in which a brain injury survivor shares his or her story — including what life is like after brain injury. General information about brain injury and brain injury prevention is also provided. (Grades 9-12/45 minutes. Available only in Hartford County.)
Sports and Concussions
A prevention program designed for athletes, parents, and coaches, exploring the symptoms of concussion, as well as their treatment and prevention. (Athletes in grades 9-12; parents and coaches at all grade levels. 30 minutes.)
