Resource & Referral Services

Ryan Burns, son of BIAC Board President Elaine Burns, never misses a BIAC event. His warm smile and never-ending enthusiasm made our Walk For Thought that much more fun!

When a brain injury survivor, family member, caregiver, or professional turns to BIAC for assistance, that assistance is provided by a Community Advocate. Their role is to offer individualized support, advocacy, and guidance required to ensure that the often complex and overwhelming challenges they are facing are negotiated more easily and effectively.

A consumer may require the name of a specific resource. When the need is more complex, advocates guide and support consumers in identifying and linking to services and programs.  Self – advocacy skills are also established as consumers move toward their goals.

Brain injury is the leading injury-related cause of disability and death in children and adolescents.
