Support Services
Approximately 8,000 to 14,000 Connecticut residents are treated for brain injuries each year.
Every brain injury is unique — and so is every family who experiences one. During the first hours, days, weeks, and months following a brain injury, questions and concerns abound.
Where can I find a doctor who specializes in brain injuries? What kinds of care will be needed — both now and later? Where will we go for rehabilitation — and how long will it take? Can my loved one return home? If so, what accommodations will need to be made — and if not, what are the options? What about his children…our children…their children? Are there other survivors we can talk to? Are there other families we might meet?

Warm sunshine, bright colors, and loving families made our 2006 and 2007 Walk For Thought as special as it was!
And the biggest question of all: What will life be like?
To help families find answers to these questions and more, BIAC offers three specific support services:
• Individual Support
• Peer Mentoring
• and Support Groups.
