Oversees all facets of the organization including, but not limited to, Board of Directors activities, legislative advocacy, affiliation with the United States Brain Injury Alliance and developing local partnerships with individuals, corporations and organizations.
Julie has been BIAC's Executive Director since 2002. She has over 30 years of experience in nonprofit management. She was a founding member of the Board of Directors for the United States Brain Injury Alliance, where she served as Governance Chair.

Bonnie Meyers, MS, CRC, CBIST, Director of Programs & Services
Provides overall management and supervision for BIAC's programs and services including the Helpline, Community Education, Outreach and Support Groups.
Bonnie has been working in the field of brain injury for 30 years. She holds a graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer. Bonnie has overseen brain injury services throughout the continuum of recovery, including sub-acute programs in rehabilitation hospitals as well as within a variety of community settings, including ABI waiver services, adult day programs, vocational/supported employment programs, and independent living programs.

Rene Carfi, MSW, LSW, CBIST, Senior Brain Injury Specialist
Community education, outreach, support groups, professional training, annual conference
Rene has 20 years experience in the field of brain injury, having previously held management positions at the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey for 17 years. She also served as Vice Chair of the New Jerey Special Education & Traumatic Brain Injury Task Force. She holds a master's degree in Social Work from Rutgers University.

Joy Morse, Director of Fund Development
Directs all fund development, marketing and communications activities
Having previously served as BIAC's Events and Grants Manager, Joy returned to BIAC in 2018 in this new role. She also previously served as Development Director at the American Lung Association.

Mark Lukas, MS, CRC, Brain Injury Specialist
Links people to community supports and services. Addresses individual issues about living with brain injury.
Mark is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and holds of Master of Science in Counseling from Central Connecticut State University. He has 16 years of experience in working with individuals with brain injury, with a background in supported education and employment.
